Pros: Smell, gentle cleansing, good for sensitive skin
Cons: price, not completely natural, has 'cones

I tried the Aveda line a few years ago, and felt lukewarm about it, but not fantastic. I decided to give them another try this year (it helped that one of my friends is in love with the company).
The shampoo, first off, has the most wonderful natural mint and rosemary blend scent to it. I've used other mint scented products, but they came off smelling somewhat like plastic underneath the mint. This shampoo does not.
It lathers a little, but not a lot - something else I like, because I'm not a big fan of huge amounts of lathering agents in my products. It cleans well, without stripping my hair - and doesn't make my skin itch. I've sensitive skin and most chemical containing products make me itch after a few uses. Aveda is a blend of natural, with some synthetic - but their composition is very gentle, yet effective.
The only downside is the price... but even that's not that bad, since most natural shampoos I've used have a comparable price range.
Also - the company has outstanding customer service. One order never arrived (so they reshipped it free of charge), and another order was missing a bottle (they sent the smaller 8 oz size instead of the 33 oz size), and they are sending out the larger bottle, at no extra shipping cost to me, nor asking me to return the smaller one, nor charging me for the smaller one.
Though both my orders were initially messed up, they are prompt to address any issues, and my friend has been ordering from them for years with no issues. I suspect I just got "lucky" with the mix ups. :-)
But - all in all - this is an excellent product, backed by a wonderful company. I'd highly recommend it. (The matching conditioner is awesome as well! My hair has a balance with these two products - neither overly stripped/dryed out, nor too overly moisturized/lank)
