This is a fruity smelling off-white colored creamy pudding-like hair wax. I've used other waxes in the past and have been put off by the....well, waxiness of them. This is very light and non-sticky. When you first rub it between your hands, it feels very lightly tacky, but once it's in your hair there is zero stickiness.
I use this once right after I wash for my hairstyling, and I can refresh it with spritzing or just re-twisting, so I don't need to add any more product unless I want to really add more definition. Since I only apply it once then wash on the second or third day, I haven't had a problem with buildup (I use CV poo bars), but this can be easily remedied with a regular shampoo wash.
This is also a matte finish product (hence the beach reference), so you don't get that crazy plasticky silicone look going on. I get my shine from coconut oil.
