Pros: No Animal By-Products, No Parabens, No SLS, No Animal Testing. No Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates. No synthetic fragrances
Cons: May be hard to find, more expensive than drugstore products

I find this to be a wonderful SLS, cruelty-free shampoo. It is gentle, but I still find it very effective diluted 50% with distilled water and applied to scalp only for CWC washing.

My hair is already hennaed, so it would take a lot to really show highlights, but I have heard from others with un-hennaed hair and over time this did bring out the natural highlights in hair.

Although there is henna in the ingredients, this shampoo does not dye the hair red (I assume it's some sort of henna extract).

Hennaed hair also can be picky about products, and this works very well in that respect.

I had considered CO at one point, but found that the most common conditioners that work well for that had few to none nourishing herbs for the scalp. This light, but effective shampoo, even when used full strength, gives me a good cleansing without overstripping my hair.

Pros: smell, gentle
Cons: too drying

I loved this shampoo when I first bought it. It smells wonderful and is quite gentle on my hair. I really was quite pleased and would really like to continue using it, for my hair really seemed to get along with it quite well. However...

It is rather drying to my scalp. In fact I have major dandruff because of it, now. I usually CO, but with my recent cut, CO is too moisturizing. I look like a greezey mess by the end of the day. So I tried JASON's shampoo. Read a lot of good reviews, liked it...but apparently my scalp did not. Oh well, back to the drawling board.
