Pros:
stays warm, fabric catches drips, not tied down by a cord
Cons:
gel inserts can melt causing leaks and need to be replaced
I have two (one chin strap model and one turban) and use these all the time for my deep conditioning treatments. If you are careless about microwaving them, the gel inserts can melt and/or leak and need to be replaced. That's how I got two caps, for the replacement packs. You can just purchase single gel packs though, but I zapped mine for way too long and needed all of them replaced.
