Pros:
|
Great detangler, water-resistant
|
|
Cons:

Needed some sanding
|

Would have gotten a 10 if not for the fact that I needed to sand it after it arrived. Not a whole lot, but it took about 30 minutes with a nail file to have it smooth enough to make me happy.
The color on this can be vibrant terra cotta orange, but it darkens as it ages. Has a hole on the bottom and can be hung and used in the shower. I love the handle rake design, and this is my most commonly used comb.
It's HUGE and has a nice wide teeth spacing (about half an inch) and is second-best only to finger-combing.

Pros:

great for not pulling out curls, gentle wet combing -- wide teeth

Cons:

This comb is awesome for combing hair after it has dried or for detangling wet hair; the teeth are widely spaced so that it doesn't completely pull out curls or waves. It is bright orange when it arrives; I have heard reports that it will darken over time, but I haven't had mine long enough to observe this yet.

Required no sanding when I received it. It does not play 'tug o' war" with my hair, glides like butta. Minimizes the disruption of curl pattern (or wave in my case). Great investment.

The comb had a warm brown tone when it arrived, and I was surprised at the size of it. This is definately the largest comb I ever saw! It did not actually need sanding but one of the other combs I got from hairsense did, and I discovered how shiny and smooth it is possible to polish the bakelite. -So I did it anyway.
My hair is straight and does not tangle much. The only use I have for this comb is to help distribute conditioner and hair treats. For this purpose it is great because of itīs sturdyness and the long widely spaced teeth. And you donīt have to worry about getting the comb wet.
I expect a person with waves/curls would find it more versatile.
(Also: surprisingly fast delivery from hairsense.com to Norway/Europe. Because of the clever way they had packed it I did not have to pay the 25% import tax (moms) that normally comes on top of everything more costly than NOK 200 (ca. $31).)

My favorite comb. I use it all the time and if I ever needed another comb I would order one just like it.

I bought this rake for DH based on the reviews here. I had to spend about 20 minutes sanding all the tines to my satisfaction, then gave it to him. He has fine, wavy near waist length hair and said this comb is pretty good. He uses it to detangle hair every night before bed.
The comb is huge and very sturdy feeling. Mine is a brick red color that didn't darken with use. Overall I think it's a good comb for detangling purpose at home. It's very likely the biggest comb you'll ever own.

* I can't remember exactly how much I paid... the above price is an estimate.
This comb is by far my favorite comb EVER. I second what above reviewers have said... it's second best only to finger combing. I love the widely spaced teeth, it's just what my hair needs to help detangle post shower. This is a comb I never want to be without... I consider it a must for long haired combers
