Pros: price, unscented, lots of uses, cone-free, vegan
Cons: none

AVG is another one of my "everything" products. In hair, I use it in Snowy's Moisture Treatment, and as a hair gel to keep my pesky bangs in proper order. It doesn't flake-off like many hair gels, and has a flexible hold so my bangs don't look plastered together.
For skin this is a great light moisturizer. I got my bottle at Longs in the First-Aid section.

Hey there Happylynn I was just wondering if you could post the ingredients? Most Aloe gels I find in them mainstream market contain parabens or other types of preservatives as well as alocohol...I was wonder if fruit of the earth is the same...thanks!

Pros: Clear, inexpensive, doesn't contain alcohol or painkillers, lasts forever
Cons: Contains DMDM hydantoin and diazolidinyl urea.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera gel, triethanolamine, tocopherol acetate (vitamin E acetate), carbomer 940, tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM hydantoin, diazolidinyl urea.

I don't use aloe for many things (an occasional SMT or batch of kimberlily's defrizz spray), but when I do, this is the one I go for. I've had this bottle several years, and it's still perfectly fine, and is less than half empty.

The advantage to this versus aloe vera juice is that it is a gel consistency (which is generally easier to use than a liquid, in my experience), and it has preservatives, so it won't go bad in a few days, like pure aloe juice.

Really, I'm posting this review because there's a lot of long-named ingredients in this product, so I'm going to briefly explain what they are.

Aloe Vera- no explanation necessary, I hope. Moisturizing, healing, etc.

Triethanolamine- pH balancer.

Tocopherol acetate-- tocopherol is vitamin E, acetate reduces the acidity of vitamin E. Antioxidant, good for scars, skin, etc. Great stuff!

Carbomer 940- Gelling agent.

Tetrasodium EDTA- chelating agent, removes metals and minerals from a liquid.

DMDM hydantoin- preservative. It does work by releasing miniscule amounts of formaldehyde into the solution, though.

Diazolidinyl urea- same basic thing as DMDM hydantoin.

Do keep in mind that this product is mostly aloe, and that there is very little of the other ingredients in this product.

Pros: clear, cheap, good
Cons:

The best value for the money! I got a 12 oz bottle at WalMart for $3.92. At the health food store I paid around 8 for a 4 oz bottle! (different brand) As far as I can see there isn't much difference- except for the price.

Pros: Great stuff
Cons: none

I purchased this as I had run out of my standard GNC aloe gel and found they no longer carried it. Found it at my supermarket for almost 7 dollars , so held off, and found it at walmart for 3.29.

I'm not entirely sure if my hair loves this stuff, but i have it in the mister bottle and have tried it as a gel. It works fine for both, but I use it mainly on my face after washing instead of heavy moisturizer. Love it to bits.

Pros: totally natural
Cons: none whatsoever

Just love this product, £3.90 from amazon and it comes in a large bottle with pump on the top so no wastage, lasts ages (about 6 months) I use it as a hair gel, in SMT's, on burns, as a moisturiser it has so many uses, a good all rounder and highly recommended.
