Protein and cones!!! Oh no!!!!!
I've been getting a few drops out (as little as I can get from the dispenser), rubbing between my hands, and then finger combing through my hair. I like it. It leaves my hair very shiny, with a nice curtain effect once dry when its combed out. Also helps with detangling and leaves my ends feeling nice.
Just to update, I still use this fairly regularly and still get great results. None of the splitting ends or coarseness described in other reviews

No slip, made hair stick together

I had high hopes for this product, but it ended up being a bust. It did not give me slip and it made my hair clump together and coarse, not smooth. Normally being so expensive, it's a wonder people buy this. They probably like the Chi name.

'Cones, protein, lots of slip and shine.

'Cones, protein, dry splitting ends, expensive, a bit clumpy, strong love-or-hate-it scent, difficult to source in UK

It's a protein and 'cones cocktail, and a bit too heavy on both of those for my hair. It gave me very dry, crunchy ends, to the point of splitting and breaking, even with the help of an SMT before use, and then coconut oil on the ends after application. (I trimmed two months ago and my hair is unprocessed, so existing damage wasn't the problem.) The bottle is difficult to only get a small amount out of, and the consistency is quite thin and runs easily, so it's all too easy to overdo it. In hindsight, I should've used a tiny smidgen of coconut oil before I used this, rather than after.
It does give a great shine, and helps me detangle. The smell is very hit or miss - it's a bit reminiscent of male cologne mixed with salon-brand-type scents, and it's very strong. The smell will stay until you next wash, and the closed bottle can be smelt from a few metres away. If you get migraines from scents, steer clear. It dries slightly clumpy for me - fine after a gentle combing when dry, but if you're far enough from curly that the clumps don't aid curl formation, it can be a problem.
My hair does like a little touch of 'cones, but this is just too heavy for my hair. I paid too much for it ($46, with shipping, for a large 300ml bottle), and I won't be buying it again. Lesson learned.

I had low expectations of the product, since it's chock full of cones (not to mention pricey), and since I do have other styling products that are loaded with silicone and are great but not fantastic. So would this justify its cost? Erm... Yes.
My regular styling product, a curling cream (got2b anti-frizz), is great for frizz, yet it leaves my ends slightly crunchy and quite dry, and waxy, for some reason. And no matter what was used (Jessicurl no cone styling products), my ends were still terrible. I was afraid I'd have to have at least 2 to 3 inches cut off.
Using Chi on top of the curling cream did wonders for my ends! Even though, only a smidgen of the stuff was used, my ends are soft, smooth, and not waxy at all. It's as if my hair's been revived (and I have dry, permed ends).
Do be careful about how you use this product. You really don't need to use a lot. It quickly gets to be *too much*. Use just the tip of your finger's worth, no more, spread it in the palms of your hands, then ever so lightly run your hands through the last half or third of your hair, touching your hair here and there. That's it. It really needs to be lightly distributed.
I totally recommend this product, even though I don't particularly like using products that contain silicone.
It is pricey. OMG! But simply because you really don't need a lot, it's definitely worth it.
It smells like a man's cologne, kind of strong, but once it's in your hair it smells divine, even days later!
