The smell will knock you over in the shower and it lingers in the hair until your next wash! 
I bought this for the smell because I love my Vanilla Monoi oil so much, but it's a great shampoo in its own right. Contains laureth sulfate, so not super harsh like lauryl sulfate, but I wouldn't use it every day or regularly on my length. Since I only shampoo once a week this isn't an issue for me.
