This tool is designed to perform the functions of both a flatiron and a curling iron. Basically, it's got a spring-loaded V-shaped handle like a flatiron. On one side there's a round barrel like you'd find on a curling iron. The other side looks kind of like a hair brush, but with only a few rows of bristles. When you squeeze the handles together, the barrel rotates.
This review & rating relate to the product's performance as a curling iron only, since I have 1a hair
I'm genuinely surprised by how much I like this gadget. I've always struggled to achieve attractive results with a curling iron, but I found the Instyler very easy and intuitive to use.
My hair is normally quite curl-resistant, and curls put in with a normal curling iron will fall out within an hour. The curls from the Instyler last over an hour on the low setting and 3-4 hours on the high setting. Somehow the curls are prettier too - shiny, perfectly formed and loaded with springy sproingy bounciness! (^(oo)^)v
